Buckinghamshire Short Mat Bowling Association

Apart from the Inter County Competitions that the Bucks team take part in, there are several other activities during the year which are open to all registered members of the Association.

These are:

1.  Summer Friendlies - These are a series of competitions organised on a monthly basis, where players from all the registered clubs in Bucks, together with guest players from other local Associations, are invited to take part. These competitions give everyone the opportunity to continue bowling throughout the year and enjoy some excellent bowling in first class conditions.

2.  The 3 Wood Pairs competition - it does what it says on the tin. Up to 36 teams take part competing in a round robin competition for cash prizes.

4. The Australian Pairs competition -  32 pairs, playing across 8 mats in a Round Robin competition for cash prizes. This has become one of the most popular events in the short mat bowls calendar and is always well supported.

5. Team 5’s competition  -  Players make up their own teams of 5, playing one pair and one triple.

6. National Trials - Each year the ESMBA invite players to take part in the National Championships. In order to qualify they must first get through the local County Trials. All disciplines are catered for: Singles, Pairs, Triples, Fours and Mixed fours. There is also an under 18 section.
