Holmer Green Gala Dinner

Holmer Green Short Mat Bowls Club was formed as a playing section of Holmer Green Sports Association in 1989. As this year is our 20th anniversary it was decided to celebrate the fact with a dinner, rather grandly titled a gala dinner. All current members and a few past members who were closely associated with the foundation of the club were invited. In particular it was great to have the presence of Sandy Robinson, the original inspiration of the club and Anna, widow of the late Pepe Festa who did so much in the early days and especially in the establishment of our outdoor rinks.

Fifty nine people attended and a good time was had by all.

Among the guests was Bill Mullett, who celebrated his 90th birthday recently. To mark the occasion the club presented him with a small gift.
