MATCH REPORT

On Sunday 26th February, Bucks welcomed the Essex B team to Handy Cross for a return friendly match.

David Gander and Paul Knight opened the scoring by winning their singles matches and the pairing of Helen Jarvis and Jenny Stallard romped away to an amazing 27 - 3 victory, while John Thompson and Mervyn Wilson , having  led for most of the match, dropped 3 in the last end to lose by just one shot. In the second half, Paul drew 11-11 while David  just missed out by 2 shots at the end of his second game. Between them they won the aggregate bonus points, as did the pairs with another great win by Helen and Jenny, this time by 18-10. Another 2 bonus points.

Derek Carter and Peter & Linda Coker drew their first game 10-10, and followed this up with another draw in the second half  with an identical score of 10-10.
Jack Rutley and Val & Brian Latham won one and lost one, but between them, the triples managed to sneak the 2 bonus points with a 45 - 43 score.

In the fours, only Beryl House, Sheila Ward, Graham Floyd and Len Ward managed to pick up any points by winning their second game, but this meant that the points score for games won stood at 15 - 17 in  favour of Essex B. However, thanks to the higher scores in the first three disciplines, Bucks scored 6 bonus points to Essex 2, making the final results 191 shots to Bucks and 21 points, 165 shots to Essex B and 19 points.

Another very close run thing.. Well done to Essex B for a great game and we hope to see you again next year for another round of friendly matches.
