The Bucks team have managed to continue their winning ways, beating Norfolk in the semi final of the Inter Counties Consolation Cup. We now meet Cheshire in the final on Sunday 7th March 2010. The Bucks team won their quarter final on the consolation KO tournament. For a full report follow the “Suffolk at Northants” tab on the ICC page. As a result Bucks will now meet Norfolk on Saturday 27th February at the Catherine Chisolm School.

The “round robin” phase of the ICC is now complete. Bucks did not qualify for the latter stages of the competition so have entered the consolation cup. We had a bye in the preliminary round and will be playing in the quarter final on Saturday 13th February
The National play offs were completed on 17th January and are likely to be our last competition at the Polish Club. The Bucks squad now have a new home venue, Handy Cross sports stadium in High Wycombe. This venue may also be used for such events as the three wood pairs and the National trials. In order to familiarise the members of the squad with the playing conditions at Handy Cross a “spoon drive” was organised for Saturday 6th February. Husbands, wives and partners were welcome to participate and some 30 bowlers took part. There were three prizes on offer for the day, one for the highest morning score, won by Arnie Jaffe, one for the highest afternoon score won by Linda Coker and one for the highest aggregate score won by Paul Knight. The Bucks 3 Wood Pairs Competition took place on Sunday 22nd November at the Polish Club. The winners of the £50 first prize were Linda and Peter Coker. Second prize of £30 went to Joan Northcott and Jack Rutley, third prize of £20 to Thelma Leslie and Don Barber with the fourth prize of £10 being won by Keith Patrick and Chris Fillery.

Bucks now has a second umpire to relieve some of the pressure on John Holland. Brian Latham has passed the umpires examination. Congratulations to Brian.

Following the ESMBA AGM this year there was the inevitable rules revision meeting. This year the meeting did actually agree on some changes and some new rules. These new and amended rules came into force on 1st September 2009, so all our league and ICC matches this season will be played under these rules.
