Holmer Green Masters Tournament
On Sunday 19th July Holmer Green entertained fifteen teams from twelve clubs in it’s annual masters tournament played on the outdoor rinks.
The weather was atrocious, with high winds and heavy rain. The two gazebos that provided some minimal shelter were blown away and suffered considerable damage. From the wreckage one serviceable gazebo was constructed. Apart from one period during the morning when the rain really was too heavy play was more or less continuous. One of the odd quirks of chance it never rained when Bellingdon were bowling. Holmer Green owes a debt of gratitude to all those bowlers willing to accept such conditions to see the tournament through to completion.
The winners were newcomers to the tournament, Farwell, with Beacon as runners up.
The winners Farwell with their trophy prizes
The runners up, with their prizes but no trophy, only Holmer Green’s chairman.
